…and I am sorry about that! Life has been hectic. Too hectic for my liking! I have been working too hard on too many things and it is starting to get me down a little. I have not done any writing or reading for months. I wonder how I can get back to them…do you guys have any ideas?
I have got so many books on my “To Be Read” pile it is unbelievable!
Well, it is happened! It was this weekend and this is the first UnCon I have done in a while and it feels like I have never left…all the faces are the same and the NSS gifts are just as good.
I found out that my NSS giver was Poodlesister and she gave some amazing things…
I have added the Bookplates to my collection and I am saving the chocolate!! I do love London themed items!
I also received my NSS from the Oslo Convention that happened in April earlier this year. I was unable to go, Travelina brought it with her as she was coming to the UnCon. Here is what my NSS giver gave me:
Sadly, I don’t know who was the giver. Oh well!
My NSS receiver was Semioicghost. A lover of Sci Fi! I cross stitched her a bookmark. She worked out that it was from me. I am glad that she liked it.
My Instagram story on Sunday was of the Release Walk through Loughborough. It was lovely to wander around the town. I did some Geocaching and I was introduced to Munzee. Sadly Munzee is not available on my phone as it is a Windows Phone. I was catching Caches while on the Release Walk.
I cannot believe it is only a few weeks until the Bookcrossing UnConvention 2017 in Loughborough. I can’t wait to see everyone. I have already packed my books that I will be releasing over the weekend and got my transport all sorted. I have organised a ‘Northamptonshire Themed’ Raffle Prize; which I am very excited to be donating.
I will be stitching when I am there – I have found a cross stitch pattern of the Bookcrossing “Road” sign! I will keep you all posted on the progress of that…
Yesterday, I received a very exciting piece of mail – it was the “What the Reviewers Said” Book Box that was organised by NatalieC7. It has been a while since I have received a Book Box – it was exciting! I always have my Bookcrossing mail labelled with my username (JemmaJ) and then I know it is BC related! The sender of the box was Yorkshire-Lass. It is a UK based box thank heavens!
Within this box, you selected two books; that have been wrapped, by the reviewers comment that have been placed upon the wrapping. I choose:
“Something poignant and often hilarious…I loved it. Six stars Hurrah!”
This book was actually “What I did on my holidays” by Chrissie Manby. I have never heard of this author. It does not look like it will be a long read, so I have added it to my TBR pile.
The second book I chose was:
“Both tear-jerking and spine-tingling”
This review turned out to be for “Sister” by Rosamund Lupton. Another author I have never heard of. I will add it to my TRB pile and make a decision later on in the year to see if I will read it or not.
My TRB pile is getting bigger and bigger!
As requested by the rules of the box, I have added two wrapped books! Very exciting!
Just over a month until the UnCon in Loughborough – will you be there??
I have been doing a lot of “reading” lately; well listening to Audiobooks, as I have been doing a lot more exercise, by walking to and from work. I have been reading a lot of self help and positive books – which have been helping. I have been focusing on my Jamberry business for the last few weeks and I feel that it time that I take it to the next level!
Luckily, my shifts have now changed at my current job – sadly not as good as I thought, but it is going in the right direction!
I have been selected to lead a Girlguiding Northamptonshire International Trip in 2019; the European Adventure event. I am very excited and I have already started planning for my fundraising activities. I have created an Easy Fundraising account and a Fund My Travel page to help me with the fundraising. I would really appreciate it if you would all have a look at one or both of the pages
Oh yes! It is finally here! On Friday, 21st April it will be the 16th International Bookcrossing Day as on April 21, 2001, BookCrossing.com was launched. It is very exciting – if you wish to know more about Bookcrossing; just click here!
I have set myself a challenge, to release 21 books on April 21st. Originally, I was supposed to be attending the International Convention in Oslo, however I was unable to get the time off work. So, I thought as I have not been put on work on the Friday (strange I know – silly shifts!) I would do a mass release! I am super excited about it. I have never really done a ‘proper’ release challenge before. As some of you may already know, I am also the OBCZ manager at Towcester Mill Brewery. I have too many books upon the shelves; this was when I started releasing the odd one up at the shop; which is now at the Bell Plantation here in Towcester. I know that it is going to take a lot of organising and it is now the 19th April. I can do it!
I have also decided to show my releases on my personal and the OBCZ Instagram accounts – keep your eyes peeled!
I am rather excited! I have been doing a lot of reading recently and I have decided that I need to get away for a little but. I have decided that if I am unable to attend the Jamberry International Conference in Utah in June, I will attend the International Bookcrossing Convention in Oslo. I WILL attend! I WILL attend! I WILL attend!
I am going to make the most of this trip to Norway. I will have some books to release while I am there and I will be naughty and read my Kindle on the journey. I have set myself a challenge of only reading 10 books for the Goodreads reading Challenge for 2017
My muse has also returned! I completed another assignment for my Writer’s Bureau – which I am very excited about! I am sending that out tomorrow morning; hopefully I will get the feedback quickly. I have been thinking about releasing the assignment as a short story on Createspace…what do you all think?
I cannot believe that I have lost interest in my NaNoWriMo novel this month; it seems I am not destined to write a Science-Fiction novel. I have got bored of it at 12, 403 words. I haven’t even updated my word count on the site! Terrible I know! I have been focusing on my jobs this month.
My new job as a Retail Supervisor and Bar Tender has been rather busy since starting on November 1st. It has been very demanding on the body – as the shop is still being ‘created’ and is not yet completed. Which; is a shame as I would like to get on with my job.
Also, I have been trying to catch up on my reading. I have added more books to my TBR pile but it seems not to be going down! It must be, but I cannot see it!
Well, I knew that this was going to happen this year. Even though I have a new job which has given me more time to write it seems that I am just unable to write! I am a bit of a Planter – I think that is the term – where I have planned a little bit but I am also being an author who just goes with it. This year I purposefully did a little of planning – characters names etc, researched into their jobs and places where they could work from. However, I have ran out of everything that I have planned, which is a shame! I have not brought a “Winners” tee shirt this year, I thought I could get one when I actually won. Fat chance of that happening at the moment!
I need some positive vibes sending my way, please!!
Wow! I have had a massive burst of reading madness. Recently I have finished “Molly and the Cat Café” by Melissa Daley (review coming soon!) and I am already a fifth of the way through “The Lost Symbol” by Dan Brown. Both of these books are a part of my Goodreads Reading Challenge. I have also set myself a mini challenge to read both “The Lost Symbol” and “Inferno” before Tuesday 31st October – as my Mum and I had decided to go and see the film “Inferno” on that day. A mission I know, but I am determined to do it.
My current Goodreads Reading Challenge book count is at 10 out of 24. Fourteen to go and two months to do it in! I will complete it! I will! I am staying positive!
Also I have some interesting news about my ‘everyday life’. I am no longer a member of staff for my local county council. Well, almost. I finish on October 28th and on November 1st (the same day as NaNoWriMo begins) I will be working for my part-time as a full-time staff member. On November 1st, the Brewery will be expanding into a new building and I am going to be one of the staff members who are going to be working there. I am very excited about this.
I have also created a blog for my Cross Stitching ‘obsession’ it is called Dreaming in Aida. Please feel free to pop over and see it. Leave a comment and enjoy what you see!
