Bookcrossing Update: “What the Reviewers Said” Book Box

300_14630187

Yesterday, I received a very exciting piece of mail – it was the “What the Reviewers Said” Book Box that was organised by NatalieC7. It has been a while since I have received a Book Box – it was exciting! I always have my Bookcrossing mail labelled with my username (JemmaJ) and then I know it is BC related! The sender of the box was Yorkshire-Lass. It is a UK based box thank heavens!

Within this box, you selected two books; that have been wrapped, by the reviewers comment that have been placed upon the wrapping. I choose:

“Something poignant and often hilarious…I loved it. Six stars Hurrah!”

This book was actually “What I did on my holidays” by Chrissie Manby. I have never heard of this author. It does not look like it will be a long read, so I have added it to my TBR pile.

The second book I chose was:

“Both tear-jerking and spine-tingling”

This review turned out to be for “Sister” by Rosamund Lupton. Another author I have never heard of. I will add it to my TRB pile and make a decision later on in the year to see if I will read it or not.

My TRB pile is getting bigger and bigger!

As requested by the rules of the box, I have added two wrapped books! Very exciting!

Just over a month until the UnCon in Loughborough – will you be there??

Camp is a DISASTER! BookCrossing not so much…

Well, Camp NaNo is a DISASTER! I have not written a thing. Even though I have had a of of inspiration surrounding me. I just couldn’t write anything – which has made me feel relaxed a little. I know that NaNoWriMo is only a couple of months away. I WILL be more focused on the project. I am going to stay positive! I am going to use NaNo as my release, other than m stitching.

As for BookCrossing, I am writing this while I wait for my fellow BookCrossers to arrive for a meet up at a local OBCZ – I am hoping that some more people will arrive soon. It could be just the two of us.

I am excited about the UnConvention, it is almost two months away. I have been trawlling through he local charity shops looking for unlove books. Yesterday, I was at a local school fair and there was an ex- library book stall. Sadly need unable to have a look around until the end. This was when I was surprised that the ex-library book stall was now FREE! I grabbed as many of the books I could – they are coming with me to the UnConvention! I have already bought my bookplates ready to put in some books. I am at need to get some more. I wonder if the Supply Store will be attending this year?!

Bookcrossing News!

You may have noticed that there is a new “page” here on the blog?! Bookcrossing Conventions & UnConventions is what it is called. Here I will be posting all things related to Bookcrossing Conventions & UnConventions. Very exciting right?

As I have been doing a lot more reading recently, it is time for me yo get my TBR pile down! I will be sending some books out via RABCK and hopefully the receivers will enjoy the books just as much as I have.

I am also in the process of planning a monthly meet up for Northamptonshire (and other local ‘shires’) at The Towcester Mill Brewery; as The Mill has its own Official Bookcrossing Zone, which I am the Zone Manager. I will let you all know when and what time it is.

I have got my bookplates all sorted for the UnCon in September – I am super excited as I missed the official Convention in April.

International Bookcrossing Day

Oh yes! It is finally here! On Friday, 21st April it will be the 16th International Bookcrossing Day as on April 21, 2001, BookCrossing.com was launched. It is very exciting – if you wish to know more about Bookcrossing; just click here!

I have set myself a challenge, to release 21 books on April 21st. Originally, I was supposed to be attending the International Convention in Oslo, however I was unable to get the time off work. So, I thought as I have not been put on work on the Friday (strange I know – silly shifts!) I would do a mass release! I am super excited about it. I have never really done a ‘proper’ release challenge before. As some of you may already know, I am also the OBCZ manager at Towcester Mill Brewery. I have too many books upon the shelves; this was when I started releasing the odd one up at the shop; which is now at the Bell Plantation here in Towcester. I know that it is going to take a lot of organising and it is now the 19th April. I can do it!

I have also decided to show my releases on my personal and the OBCZ Instagram accounts – keep your eyes peeled!

Bookcrossing and a whole lot more…

ksiazki

I am rather excited! I have been doing a lot of reading recently and I have decided that I need to get away for a little but. I have decided that if I am unable to attend the Jamberry International Conference in Utah in June, I will attend the International Bookcrossing Convention in Oslo. I WILL attend! I WILL attend! I WILL attend!

I am going to make the most of this trip to Norway. I will have some books to release while I am there and I will be naughty and read my Kindle on the journey. I have set myself a challenge of only reading 10 books for the Goodreads reading Challenge for 2017

My muse has also returned! I completed another assignment for my Writer’s Bureau  – which I am very excited about! I am sending that out tomorrow morning; hopefully I will get the feedback quickly. I have been thinking about releasing the assignment as a short story on Createspace…what do you all think?
