Hey everyone; welcome to The Writing Rants…, which is my all things writing blog! For many years I have taken part in both NaBloPoMo and NaNoWriMo. Here is some information about them:
NaBloPoMo was started in 2006 by Eden Kennedy, as a response to NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), and BlogHer began leading the charge in 2011. We now run NaBloPoMo writing challenges every month … but November still tends to be the “official” month, and it is unofficially HUGE.
NaBloPoMo starts November 1 and runs until November 30. Just make the commitment to post on your own blog every day. It’s that simple.
To increase your exposure and participation, you should:
Add your blog to the November NaBloPoMo blogroll until November 5. (That’s the list we’re using to choose the prizes, too.)
Support other bloggers doing NaBloPoMo by reading a handful of the other blogs on the blogroll. Cheer them along, and they’ll cheer you on, too.
You can also cross-post your blog posts onto the NaBloPoMo site for more exposure.
If you need daily inspiration, bookmark the NaBloPoMo prompts (which I already have done!). It will show all the prompts for the month posted so you can plan ahead.
National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing. On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM on November 30.
